Riskified Partners with SB Payment Service to Accelerate Revenue Growth for Ecommerce Merchants

Enabling merchants to improve authorization approval rates and increase sales under mandatory EMV 3D Secure requirements

Tokyo, Japan June 25, 2026 Riskified (NYSE: RSKD), a global leader in ecommerce fraud detection and risk intelligence, today announced a partnership with SB Payment Service Corp. (“SBPS”), a subsidiary of SoftBank Corp. (TSE:9434) and a core company in its finance business.  Through this partnership, SBPS merchants will be able to leverage Riskified’s AI-powered fraud detection solution, Checkout Intelligence, to address payment conversion challenges associated with mandatory EMV 3D Secure authentication, while optimizing payment processes to support ecommerce revenue growth.

In Japan, the mandatory adoption of 3D Secure has been introduced in response to the increase in credit card fraud. While the measure strengthens transaction security, stricter authentication requirements can also lead to lower authorization approval rates, cart abandonment, and lost sales from legitimate customers.

Riskified’s fraud detection capabilities support “Pattern 1” operations, enabling merchants to select from multiple EMV 3D Secure operating models based on transaction risk and potential opportunity loss. By accurately identifying legitimate customers, merchants can improve both 3D Secure and authorization approval rates while increasing overall sales performance.

Through this partnership, Riskified and SBPS will continue supporting Japanese merchants with both technology and strategic expertise to help businesses deliver secure and seamless online payment experiences.

This partnership also reflects Riskified’s continued expansion in the Japanese ecommerce market. Riskified has been adopted by several leading domestic merchants and international brands selling in Japan, including and ST Co., Ltd. (Adastria), Lacoste Japan, United Arrows, AKOMEYA TOKYO.
